He kept in contact with us by phone, and visited our site several times a week. His foreman and workers worked hard, they worked continuously until the job was finished. They came when they said they would come. They stayed on the budget, and did not force us to do what we had not intended to do. Our basement and new bathroom look beautiful, and when our upstairs bath was leaking through the walls, we did not hesitate to have Ira and his crew re-do our upstairs shower and did not go looking for other estimates. Ira made me feel at ease by informing me of the up-to-date licenses his company had. As a new tenant/home owner in this building, the last thing I wanted was to cause any damage to the homes below me. I felt comfortable that should anything occur, I was covered. That was the start. The next thing that made me feel at ease, was that Ira worked with my designer and I, as far as timing. I had to wait for certain things to be done before his crew could complete their work. Rick S, Chicago, IL: My experience with Elite Home Builders was exceptional. I had 2 complete bathrooms and a kitchen, crown molding and recessed lighting done. Their work was outstanding and marked by precision. I was especially impressed by the coordinated meetings between the homeowner, contractor and foreman that really saved time and confusion since all parties involved were there. It was easy to make changes as the projects progressed and some of the larger changes were backed by amendments to the contract. Periodic discussions of the cost took place contributing to no surprises at the conclusion of the job. There was good attention paid to the details in their work-- especially shown in the excellent tile and trim work done. Other, perhaps, more secondary, aspects of the work were held to high standards such as: reliable daily start and stopping times, workers did not juggle other jobs while working on my project, clean-up was thoroughly done and all workers were easy to contact when needed. (These last few things, I think, tend to bring on the biggest headaches in home remodeling.) Their pricing was competitive and worth it. I will be using Elite again and strongly suggest anyone reading this to check them out.

Doug, Chicago, IL: These guys are the real deal, and we feel so lucky to have found them for our first remodeling project. Reading other people's testomonials of Elite when we were researching contractors, it almost seemed too good to be true, but Ira's obvious enthusiasm and professionalism won us over. We redid the original, only bathroom in a historic Tudor. Already a small, cramped space, they extended into an adjacent closet and a linen closet to create a beautiful, luxurious space. In redoing the plumbing, they placed all the lines for a future attic bath which will save us time and money in the long run. That's just how Ira, the owner is. He thinks of the big picture and is extremely considerate, courteous and very eager to please. It's refreshing and appreciated in an industry with far too many horror stories. We highly recommend Robert, our project foreman and the two Peters. As a team, they worked seamlessly and we were very surprised at the level of care taken to clean up every single day, and minimize the intrusion of remodeling the only bath in the house. They did some very difficult work in the space, including moving an old cast iron toilet stack, or at our request, refitting IKEA kitchen cabinetry to bathroom specs to save us money. As for the design, Robert was a very creative, problem solver and worked hard to realize our vision for the bathroom, which was an unsual layout designed to make the most of the small space. Robert and Ira's help and their flexible approach to remodeling was invaluable to planning the space, and allowed us to forgo the cost of an interior designer. Being a perfectionist and quite picky, they were very accomodating to our whims, even redoing a slate tile here and there because we thought it wasn't randam enough. It was all around a very enjoyable experience and we will be using them for a great many more projects.
